A spotlight on Art-based Therapy and how it works

Art Therapy

Art-based Therapy for Educators Program

Educators frequently confront elevated stress levels inherent to our profession, and art-based therapy has its merits in decompression, connection, relaxation, and group enjoyment.

This specialised psycho-educational program is tailor-made for educators, addressing work-related stressors, challenges and psychological injuries. The goal is to normalize and provide an outlet for some of these difficulties and externalize suppressed emotions.

Art-based Therapy, as a holistic method, enhances an individual's physical, mental, and emotional well-being through the creative process. Engaging in familiar art forms like drawing, painting, sculpting, collage, jewellery making and various creative expressions, it's important to note that no prior artistic skills or talent are necessary to participate in Art-based Therapy.

Meet Amber

I am a NESA accredited proficient early childhood teacher and a member of PACFA registered psychotherapist.

My passion for mental health has led me play two distinct but interconnected roles on this professional journey. As an early childhood teacher, I am grateful that I have been having the privilege of guiding and nurturing the youngest members of our society. As a psychotherapist, I have had the honor of delving into the complexities of the human psyche, offering support to those seeking to navigate the labyrinth of their emotions, thoughts and experiences. Essentially, both of my roles nurture and celebrate growth through the foundation of connectedness, relationship, empowerment, and authenticity.
